Hidden Treasures

Disease or sickness can be a catalyst that leads to depression, and despair or even loss of hope. The realization that opportunities have slipped by, never to return and doors have closed never to open again, can lead to fear, and guilt or shame. But what we less often focus on is that while this is true, new chances and never before openned doors are now there for the choosing. In truth, we are never left without hope and good things to look forward to. The Bible tells us that all things work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose. God has a purpose for every one of His children and He has put good things ahead waiting to be discovered like hidden treasure. Jeremiah tells us that He has plans to prospers us.
Jeremiah 33:2 says: Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know."
Dear Father,
I snuggle down into your warmth and love. You are like the mother hen who gathers her chicks together under her wings when danger is near. Your tender mercies truly are new each day. With joy by faith, today I receive all that You have freely given me. And I will not entertain the lies of the enemy which lead to darkness and loss of light.

I would like your permission to Post this perspective on Parkinson's disease on the www.dopadoc.com Parkinson's online journal. Parkinson's, as much as it takes away, often gives us new perspectives on so many things we might have taken for granted previously. Anna, you have clearly realized that, and thus, I entreat you to either allow me to reproduce this article on the site, or if you're interested, write a short perspective that I may post to my readers. Thank you for writing this. Marshall Davidson M.D. webmaster http://www.dopadoc.com

Dear Dr. Davidson: You have my permissiong to reprint any or all of what I have written in my blog. Thank you for reading it! I was diagnosed with PD in my early 30s (I am now 56)but miracle of miracles I've had DBS surgery. You might be interested in viewing a presentation I did for a DBS support group meeting for American Parkinson's Disease Foundation. If you go to my web page - www.annamblack.com - enter it, then click on stories and then Anna's presentation. I have also written a book entitled "Praying Through Parkinson's Disease" but have had no success in finding an agent to represent me so I can get it published. If you would like to know more please email me through my web page or here on the blog.
